ALESSIO PAOLI ON THE PODIUM AGAIN AT GAVI,

ON THE DAY OF THE TM 250 4-STROKE DEBUT

If on previous occasions Alessio Paoli was forced to defend himself because of a physical problem with his shoulder that slowed him down during the recent rounds of the Italian Absolutes, he was able to test his physical form on the Piedmont hills. A single day’s test, as envisaged by the championship calendar, that supplied encouraging information however about the condition of the TM RACING / BERLONI Team standard bearer, who concluded his three rounds with second place in the 250 class, collecting two victories in the special rounds and a more than comfortable ninth position in the absolute listing, which says a great deal about the potentiality of the TM-Paoli couple. On the dusty Bosio tracks in the hilly zone around Gavi, Alessio Paoli showed having solved his physical problems and found the determination again that distinguishes him and allows him to remain in the race for the conquest of the title.  

The positive performance of the Italian representative of the TM RACING / BERLONI Team coincided with the first official debut of the TM 250 4T with Petri Pohjamo, who for the occasion had put aside the development of the 125 with two-stroke motor, every secret of which he knows by now. The Finn was immediately able to highlight the possibilities of the most recent project signed TM, obtaining excellent chronometric results in the special tests. The development of this motorbike is already very advanced even if it did not figure in the order of arrival at Bosio. It was removed from classifying by a fall that gave Pohjamo an ugly knock in the enduro special  test at the start of the third and final round and he was advised to retire.

Jakob Stapleton, the Australian young rider of the TM RACING/BERLONI Team, was also among the foreigners enrolled in the round that precedes the long pause envisaged by the Italian Enduro Absolutes, obtaining brilliant placements in the world championship. Jakob came in fourth in the saddle of the two-stroke TM 250.
