Press Release 22 – 8th World Endurance round

Serres (Greece) 8 and 9 October 2005

 Pohjamo       Jake Stapleton

DOUBLE VICTORY FOR JAKE STAPLETON IN GREECE

A double-sided transfer for the TM-RACING BERLONI team in Greece. Positive for Stapleton’s double first place in the Junior and for the confirmation of Alessio Paoli among the big of the E3. Negative because of the complications to Pohjamo’s left elbow.

The new world team champion Alessio Paoli was indeed confirmed as among the top riders of the E3. After a race on terrain not congenial to his style of riding, Alessio gained seventh place on both days. A race without defects, no fall or unexpected event conditioned the result that is to be considered positive above all because of the contained distance from the dominator of the classification, David Knight.

A forced stop for Petri Pohjamo. After the first moments of the first day he was compelled to retire because of problems to his left elbow: that precise injury on the first day of the first GP of this season. On Sunday he preferred not to start in order not to worsen his state of health.

As predicted and wished Jacob Stapleton succeeded in recovering a position in the general classification. Thanks to first place on both days, Jacob has mathematically conquered second place in the World championship a race in advance. The Spaniard Guerriero in front of him and the Englishman Bolter who should finish third.
