Press Release 23 – 9th World Endurance round

Schilpario (BG) – Italy 15 and 16 October 2005

AT THE VALLI BERGAMASCHE ALL ACCORDING TO PREDICTION IN THE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP,

Jake Stapleton vice champion of the world.

The Junior World Championship ended in the best possible way for the TM-RACING BERLONI Team and the young promise Jacob Stapleton. The Australian has in fact conquered second place in the Junior Championship after having achieved second place and the highest step on the podium precisely on the last day of the round. On Sunday Jacob did not pull back in the face of the by now mathematically acquired position but wanted to give the entire team an unforgettable day. He was able to win a good eleven specials out of twelve in Sunday’s programme. In one he achieved second place by only a few tenths. Comparing the time in which Stapleton finished the time practices, we proudly want you to note that he has achieved the same time as the world multi-champion Stefan Merriman. A result that confirms the trust and commitment that the TM RACING BERLONI has for next season in facing the neo-champion of the world.

A special tanks to Nick Craige, owner of the Electraction Company and TM distributor for Ireland and UK, for the help given to assist Jake during this fantastic 2nd place in the world championship.

In black and white Alessio Paoli’s results, having come to Schilpario with all the will to recover positions in the E3. After the more than positive third place gained on Saturday, the first podium of the championship season, the dream of the TM RACING BERLONI team standard bearer vanished on Sunday when he was forced to retire after a fall in the second lap of the line practice, in this way finishing seventh in the championship.

The Finn Petri Pohjamo did not want to miss the start of the last championship round. With the pain in his left elbow from last week’s GP in Greece partially healed, Petri concluded with an excellent fifth place on the first day of racing. The specials and the track of this Grand Prix were physically very trying; after Saturday’s efforts, Petri preferred to return to the paddock after a few time practices.

Il TM-RACING BERLONI team would like to thank all its sponsors, riders, mechanics and staff who have contributed to making the 2005 championship season unforgettable.
